Stained glass painting, designing of
the design of the window
The designs of the complete window determines for the greater part, if
the tecnique of stained glass painting will be used in the window.
Stained glass paintings are used to achieve greater detail in the image displayed on the window, or as (small) decorative illustrations in the window.
When deciding on using the tecnique of stained glass painting, firts a drawing will be made, that will be transfered on to the glass.
Depending on the design and on the budget available, after the drawing of the lines, one or more layers of color shadow and/ or color will be apllied onto the glass.
designing on the worktable
Because of the fact, that many of the designs made by La luce d'Adithya
'are born' on the worktable, first a raw design of the window will be made, after which the window will grow step by step. The final design will be only visible when the window is finished.
In many cases, the window-design starts with the making of several images, painted on glass panels. These panels are then put together, like a glas mosaic.
Colors are chosen 'along the way', alowing the design to change onto the last moment.
